I came across the photograph that is apparently the most expensive ever sold. Stop looking at this blog now and Google.........." Rhein II"........ by Gursky. Study it carefully. It's complicated. I showed it to my wife (being an artist) and asked her to explain it's $4.3 million value to me. " Simplicity, power, artist vision" she tried to bullshit. An art world with too much to invest and not much taste seems like a more realistic evaluation. It reminds me of the now famous painting of "Cow Eating Grass". Explaining questions about the blank canvas, the artist answers: Where is the grass? Cow ate it. Where is the cow? Why should she hang around when there is no grass to eat. I would like to offer any of the following photos for sale at the reduced price of only $3.3 million. OBO.
