My retirement over the past 3 years has allowed me to pursue a hobby that I've had interest in most of my adult life. This web log basically represents a means of sharing my photographic images with my family and friends.

Dog in the Fog
The weather was bad...rain and more rain. Oscar and I were bored, so we studied the weather map and saw clearing to the Southwest. We picked up the camera and headed to Floyd Co in the truck. Oscar drove and pointed out some nice compositions while I rode shotgun and clicked away. We never did find the sun, and Oscar fell asleep after eating a Hardee Burger for lunch. Here is what we saw along the way and a pic of Oscar on a sunnier day.

Land and Air Scapes
It is not difficult to shoot pretty landscapes, but to do something that is fresh, interesting or has a bit of a twist is more challenging. From time to time I will try to post some landscapes that I think are just a bit different. These are from all over North America---a rising storm in Colorado, West Virginia mountain scenes in winter and spring, Midwest sunflowers, California desert dunes, and a Canadian Rocky Mountain lake. The last image is an airscape, taken while flying over a frozen Alaskan river.

Western (non)Landscapes
Any photographer who drives across the mid west, Rockies and out to the Pacific coast as we did last summer will surely come home with some great landscape images. In this blog, I am presenting some Western non landscapes. Specifically, these are some of the children that we saw along the way. The first is a boy looking down from the St. Louis Gateway Arch. The next 2 images are at a rodeo in Cheyenne. The twirling girl is at a 4H show in Wyoming. The swimmers were caught in action at Whitefish Lake, Mt and the solitary girl is playing on the Oregon coast. The last shot is, of course, two teenagers discussing their recent acceptance to VMI.
