What's next, cows?

No, but I am sticking to the animal theme.  Lourdes and I were at Jekyll Island, Ga. trying to get some winter sun in mid Feb. and I shot these scenes of shore birds.  They were all shot with a 70-300 zoom and processed in Aperture 3 which I highly recommend.

yellow of spring

Yellow is not the color of my true love's hair, but it is the color of spring.  So to get in the spirit of this season, here are some shots that show dominant yellow colors.  Yellow is sometimes difficult to shoot because of the ease of blowing out the highlights.  Sometimes small amounts (the figures pulling the rope) or intentional over exposure (the leaves) gives interesting results.  The last shot is of Bob and I partying in Phoenix.  That's me on the left.

Wild Horses couldn't drag me away......

I was listening to the Stones and thinking that my kids feel I  neglected a major part of their musical training by not exposing them to enough of this band.  Then this song came up and horse pictures came into my head....so there you have it.  A theme blog....horses.  Most of the images are from around Va, but a few, including the wild donkeys, are from South Dakota taken on our last western trip.

here we go

I am back home after a trip to Phoenix and will begin this blog in ernest.  My family has encouraged me to begin showing my photography in public, so if this project is a complete disaster I am going to blame Sara, Lourdes, Andrew,  Cristina, and Dave in that order.  I am planning to show about 3 or 4 new photos each week.  I will try to give a bit of information on each if it will help with interpretation and understanding my intent.  Please give me feedback.  All questions will be answered for a minimal price.  Please enjoy and share with others. Paul

The first of these images is of a fishing village in Cambodia before a storm. The second was taken of a women enjoying a rodeo in Wyoming.  The third is a winter reflection in a river.  Finally, a West Va. summer close-up.
